Using those measurements, you are shown how to replicate that cleat position on different shoes or when replacing your cleats. The 3 main dimensions you will find is the lateral position of the cleat 1. The measurement between the centerline of the cleat and the instep of your shoe, ensuring you have clearance against your crank arm. 2. Vertical position from the heel of the shoe to pedal axis point of the cleat 3. The angular alignment of the cleats, 'heel in' (toe-out) 'heel out' (toe-in).
