In 2021, the battle for the rainbow jersey will be held in the heart of Europe, in the land of beer and chocolate, the region that lives and breathes cycling and where art cities will be transformed into the epicentres of a gigantic cycling festival. Welcome to Flanders!
Every year, the Flemish cycling season reaches its annual peak in spring, but in 2021 this will be followed by an extra big cycling party in the autumn with the 2021 UCI Road World Championships Flanders, Belgium. The peloton will descend on the cycling region par excellence for the 100th anniversary of the UCI Road World Championships between 18 and 26 September.
There are no fewer than 11 rainbow jerseys up for grabs for the riders and teams participating. The battle for the world titles will be spread over different locations in Flanders. The course for the time trials will be mapped out between Knokke-Heist and Bruges. The road races will take place between Antwerp and Louvain.
