Home run hitters, look out! Here comes the Spider-Man, and he's playing center field.
On Tuesday night, a Japanese outfielder earned a spot in baseball highlight reels for the rest of the year and beyond.
During a Nippon Professional Baseball game between the Hiroshima Carp and the Yokohama BayStars, Shuichi Murata of the BayStars hits what looks like a sure-fire home run to center field.
Carp center fielder Masato Akamatsu wasn't about to let that happen, though.
Akamatsu dashed towards the wall in center field. As the baseball made its descent, he made a daring leap onto the wall. Akamatsu took two steps up the wall and landed on top in time to make an unbelievable catch before jumping down to the warning track.
The catch has caught the eye of media outlets around the world, who were quick to compare the wall-climbing abilities of Akamatsu and Spider-Man, the Marvel comic book character.
