Decided to set up a silly science experiment to demonstrate why you should never break glow sticks. In the interest of rigorous scientific research, I have activated two glow sticks as you can see here, connected them in loops and then cable tied them to a selfie stick. Here comes trouble, it looks like that nasty flame is at it again. Something is about to break here; I can just feel it in my bones. Anyways let’s look at this from a scientific perspective here, by adding a heat source to glow sticks its speeds up the chemical reaction inside the glow sticks and where the flame is hitting the sticks its glowing much brighter that clearly demonstrates that glow sticks are heat sensitive. Both glow sticks are now on fire, there is smoke and chemicals spraying out and we’ve just experienced an explosion on our hands, unbelievable, this is exactly why you should never break glow sticks, that really was quite an explosive chemical mess. #ScienceExplained #GlowSticks #ScienceEducation #ScienceMagic #scienceexperiment
