One of the first questions to ask when evaluating a PCB assembly (PCBA) contract manufacturer is, “Can they handle my expected production volumes?” To answer that, we first have to understand what we mean by low, mid, and high-volume.

In this video we leave aside VERY high-volume consumer electronics, and consider the typical volumes done by US-based contract manufacturers like Z-AXIS.
In addition to SMT assembly, we look at other processes such as through-hole and mixed technology board assembly, soldering, IC programming and box builds.
