So today I am power carving old Wagon wheel spokes into a Bulls skull. Then I mount it on to a back board also made from the wagon wheel spokes. The Spokes are made from Jarrah an Australian wood with a stunning red colour, when you first look at these spokes they look terrible but as I power carve into the wood it reveals its beauty.
Power carving with a Dremel 4000, Flexshaft and an array of burrs. The main shaping was done with Kutzall burrs see below for discount.
As alway I give some handy tips along the way. THIS WEEKS TIP - how to carve a balanced sculpture in three dimensions - the tip is simple but it needs to be practiced to become intuitive.
