This video explains the foundation of electrophysiology, action potential, polarization, depolarization, and repolarization. It further relates the four properties of cardiac pacemaker cells and applies them to the conduction system of the heart. The relationship of cardiac output to heart rate, stroke volume, preload, afterload and contractility is delineated. It further covers the intrinsic heart rates of different parts of the conduction system in the SA & AV nodes and Purkinje fibers. PQRST waves are explained and related to action potential.
The content of this video is intended to serve as the foundation for the interpretation of EKG dysrhythmias.
