In this video Graham explains what to consider if you are looking to purchase a dropper seatpost for your bicycle. There are many factors that often are overlooked when selecting the right dropper for your bike. In addition to the style of post and what seatpost diameter you need, minimum height, max height and minimum insertion depth are three important things to keep in mind:
Minimum Height - This measurement must be less than or equal to the amount of seatpost currently exposed on your frame when measured from the top of the seat collar to the saddle rail cradle.
Maximum Height - This measurement must be greater than or equal to the amount of seatpost currently exposed on your frame when measured from the top of the seat collar to the saddle rail cradle.
Minimum Insertion Depth - For seat-tubes with interference from linkages or bent tubing; you may need to be aware of the maximum insertion depth. Calculate this by subtracting the Minimum-Height from the overall length of the post
