The fifth wave in Elliott Wave Theory determines the final impulse of a larger impulse wave. And volume indicator data can often help us to identify that fifth wave. Why is this important? Well following a 5th wave, the price action will exhibit a pullback or retracement. The immediate trend is effectively over. So this is incredibly valuable intelligence that can be used to aid decision-making as part of our systematic trading strategy.
