Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, explains and demonstrates how to end knee pain caused by quadricep tendonitis.
There is nothing worse than having your workout ruined by knee pain. There are many causes of knee pain. In today's video, Dr. Joe discusses knee pain which is the result of quadricep tendonitis.
There are 4 quadricep muscles. All 4 muscles converge into what is known as the quadricep tendon. When the quadricep muscles build up fascial adhesions (A.K.A. "knots") they lose their normal elasticity. This results in a "tugging" effect on the quadricep tendon. The tendon eventually becomes inflamed and the end result is knee pain.
Dr. Joe demonstrates how to perform fascial release work on the quadricep muscles to help break up these adhesions. He then demonstrates how to stretch the quadricep muscles.
Once the fascial adhesions are broken down, the normal elasticity will return to the quadricep muscles. This will eliminate the tension on the quadricep tendon resulting in the knee pain to go away.
