When Jaime Garces needed storage space for his furniture business, he ordered a used shipping container for 1,500 euros and liked it so much he ordered two more and soon the three containers were stacked into a two-story bridge home with a glass-walled bedroom.
Without welding, the containers were simply stacked - as they would be aboard a ship - and select cuts were made for windows and doors. One 12-meter (40-foot) container serves as a kitchen/living room with a glass-to-glass corner window. A second container is a 2-car garage and the third container bridges across the two as a slightly-cantilevered bedroom/bathroom unit.
