Thousands of Mexicans have taken to the streets on International Women's Day to protest the country's high femicide rate.
Almost 3,000 police were deployed to contain the march, where demonstrators clashed with officers, demanding an end to gendered violence.
Protests have intensified in recent years amid claims of government inaction in the face of a rising femicide rate.
Two recent murders, including a seven-year-old girl have sparked outrage in the country.
There are 10 women murdered in Mexico every day.
