Hundreds of people were evacuated from the island of Evia as wildfires continued raging.
The coast guard evacuated 650 people by boat as fires burned through forestland in the northern part of the island.
Nearby, thousands of Athens' residents have fled the city as homes were destroyed by the persistent flames.
