Prime Minister Scott Morrison has accused Labor of acting in "bad faith" after they accused him of being insensitive to people with disabilities.
It comes after Mr Morrison answered a question by the mother of a young child with autism by saying he was “blessed” his two daughters were not disabled.
Mr Morrison said “every single child is a blessing” and the woman, whose name is Catherine, who asked the question did not take his comments to mean anything offensive.
“I was just simply saying it’s tough and I’m grateful these hardships that I and Jenny haven’t had to deal with, I was just trying in good faith to say, look, I haven’t walked in your shoes, Catherine,” he said.
“The fact that Bill Shorten and other seek to leap on that and twist the words and turn it into something political I just thought showed really bad faith.”
