Learn how to 180's off rails on a snowboard. If you're comfortable on rails, then you can add this into your snowboarding trick list frontside or backside. 180 is the first spin to learn off rails, and can lead to other spins off like 270 and 360. The key to landing this trick is coming in with the skills to ride the rail to the end, execute the 180, and commit to the landing.
Before you 180 off you first need to be consistently riding the rail to the end. Stay balance on the rail with you knees bent, weight centered and head looking to the end. Get onto the rail with a bit of speed, to help keep your momentum going straight. If you're not ready for rails, you can start by practicing on boxes first.
To execute the 180 off you need to turn and twist your upper and lower body separate. Setup the 180 by turning your upper body back 90 degrees, while keeping your board pointed straight on the rail. Then as you start to come off, twist your lower body and board to complete the 180. For frontside start by turning your upper body forward 90, then twist your lower body and board to 180 off. Practice this turn and twist 180 on the snow and jumps before taking to the rail.
