Are you wondering why you self-sabotage?
Well, there's one main reason. And that's because it's really your unconscious trying to protect you.
When we self-sabotage, it gives us the illusion that we're in control. We can predict what the future is what's going to happen or not happen, because we're making it happen. And that makes us feel safe.
And so next time you're upset with yourself for self-sabotaging instead, remind yourself, you know what, I know that you're trying to keep me safe. Just say this to your own brain. But you don't have to do that anymore. I'm an adult; I can handle my own self. Start working on your self-awareness and your mindfulness. And you'll find that self-awareness is the key and mindfulness is the key, and all the self-sabotage really starts to lessen.
