During last nights Vancouver Canucks vs Edmonton Oilers game, we got to see a coach, who is getting fired, get sent off as a hero of sorts. I have never, in any professional sport never less in the NHL, seen a fired coach in the midst of a losing season get send off with a standing ovation. It was a beautiful scene to say the least.
