Sky News host Danica De Giorgio breaks down the major Easter traditions for the Royal Family this year.
A pre-recorded message was broadcast in King Charles’ absence during the annual maundy Easter service in Worcester as he undergoes treatment for cancer.
The monarch told the congregation it was “a great sadness” he could not attend the service with them.
Queen Camilla continued to carry out the royal duties in Worcester, distributing charity coins to community volunteers.
“While we all have our own Easter traditions, some years we just have to make do,” Ms De Giorgio said.
“And that is what it feels like for the Royal Family this year; there is a bit of 'breaking with tradition' replaced with a bit of 'just making do' given the current health challenges for King Charles and Princess Catherine.”
