Future driver assistance systems will support ever larger proportions of driving situations and will increasingly have to function automatically in complex situations. They will interact with other systems in the vehicle, communicate with their surroundings and combine data from different sensors in order to record the traffic situation as accurately as possible and derive appropriate actions.
This results in new requirements for testing the safety and reliability of driver assistance systems. IAV has developed an approach that combines a real test vehicle with virtual elements and enables reproducible, but also safe and resource-saving testing.
