How to prepare goan mangane,chana dal paysam,chana dal sabudana kheer.
Mangane is a Goan sweet prepared during festivals and special occasions.Its a dessert made with sago pearls(sabudana), chana dal (split chickpeas), jaggery and cashewnuts in coconut milk.Goan chana dal payasam tastes really delicious and loved by everyone.so here is detailed recipe of how to prepare Goan mangane.
Ingredients
1/2 cup chana dal
1/4 cup sabudana
1/2 cup sugarcane jaggery
1/2 tsp cardamom/elaichi powder
1.5 cup coconut milk
salt
cashew nuts
coconut pieces(small)
ghee
Note:1)soak chana dal for 4-5 hrs
2)soak sabudana for 1-2 hrs
3)you can adjust jaggery according to your sweetness
4)quantity of coconut milk can be adjusted depending on how thick and thin payasam you require.
5)coconut pieces can be also be skipped if you dont like .
