This is one of my all-time favorite things to eat. This works great as a snack or appetizer for yourself or a large group. You can make a whole lot of these in a small amount of time really inexpensively. All of the ingredients that we used are very affordable and easy to find. If you are unable to find ground pork, you can place small amounts of fatty pork into your blender and pulse on low until desired texture has been achieved, or even use breakfast sausage in a pinch.
Simple Recipe;
Amount Ingredients
8 oz Ground Pork
1/2 Cup Green Onion
1 teaspoon, Ground Ginger,
(or 1 Tablespoon) (minced Fresh Ginger
2 Cloves Garlic, fine
2 oz Soy Sauce
1.5 Cups Fine Chopped Cabbage
Procedure
Place Ground Pork, Green Onions, Ginger, Garlic, Soy Sauce, and Cabbage into bowl.
Mix with spoon until nearly smooth, but not over mix.
Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 days
Once the filling is ready, place into wrappers and lightly dust in corn starch, or flour.
At this point they can also be stored for up to 2 days.
Place flat side down, and place into a nonstick pan with a small amount of oil, until golden brown.
Once desired color is achieved simply add a few tablespoons of water to the pan, and cover with lid.
Steam for about 3 minutes.
Remove lid, letting remaining moisture escape, and fry again without turning.
Once the bottom side is crispy again, they are ready.
Garnish with cut green onions, and serve with a 1:1 mixture of rice vinegar and soy sauce if desired.
