Posto'r bora is a popular side dish of bengal which is made up of poppy seed paste, onions and mashed potato. It is a traditional bengali delicacy which is very common in bengali kitchen. It tastes best with plain rice & dal.
Serves 4 persons-
Ingredients-
Poppy seeds/ posto dana- 4 tbsp
Onion- 1 small
Boiled potato- 1
Salt- as per taste
Kashmiri red chili powder- 1/2 tsp
Green chili- 1
Mustard oil- 2 tsp
Refine oil- 4 tsp
Methods-
1. Grind the poppy seeds/posto into a fine powder. Add little water and again blend into a thick paste. Transfer it to a bowl and add chopped onion, boiled & mashed potato, salt, kashmiri red chili powder and chopped green chili. Mix this mixture well.
2. Apply some oil to your palms and take a small portion of the poppy seed mixture and give it a flat round shape. Similarly make all the cutlets.
3. Once the cutlets are ready, heat some oil in a flat pan and fry the fritters carefully to avoid them to break. Fry each side for 1 min.
4. Serve hot with plain rice and dal.
