In the 70s his albums featured some of the best musicians of the day and "Some People Can Do What They Like" (which this track is from) is no exception, with a bunch of the guys from Little Feat and other top players in the credits.

It seems pretty clear this is the basis for the Grateful Dead's version of this song.
