Nestled in the neighbourhood of Velachery in Chennai, Agam is a compact home surrounded by buildings on two sides and a dead end road on one side. The house also has provision for a commercial unit on the ground floor.
One of the most striking features is its bold and solid facade finished entirely in interesting patterns of bricks that not just creates an interesting play of light and shadow throughout the day but also addresses the warm climate of the city through meticulously planned placement of bricks and the use of rattrap bond.
The use of golden proportion creates interesting volume along various levels and floors that makes the house breezy and spacious. Owing to this, the house is very porous on the inside in strong juxtaposition to its brick facade.
