Sky News host Andrew Bolt has blasted the Albanese government over its “ruinous push” to make Australians buy electric cars.

“There’s got to be an easier way to deal with our failing power system,” Mr Bolt said.

“How about we just stop the Albanese government’s ruinous push to make us buy electric cars rather than petrol ones?

“Right now, we have just under 200,000 EVs on our roads. But worse, under the government’s plans to force us to buy more, we should have anything up to two million EVs by 2030.

“That’s going to take a hell of a lot of electricity that we don’t have.

“Isn’t that going to make blackouts even more likely?”
