The New South Wales government has hinted at changes to proposed legislation around knife laws.
According to the Daly Telegraph, police will be able to use metal detecting wands in public spaces 12 months after a knife crime has been committed.
That's compared to six months when originally proposed in recent weeks.
The reforms follow consultations with key stakeholders after stabbings at Westfield Bondi Junction and a church in Wakeley.
