Acid attack on women is increasing day by day. With the recent incident of attack in Kashmir, this gender-based violence has raised serious concerns around victimisation of women. Aimed ar silencing and controlling women, an acid attack is a fate worse than death. It’s an attempt to destroy the life of the survivor, leaving her to suffer with life-long consequences and mental trauma subjected by society.

The recent incident of attack in Kashmir raised concerns around victimisation of women and use of acid as a tool of destruction. This is not only an attempt to take someone’s life but also an attempt on a dignified lifestyle since survivors are often left to suffer with life-long consequences and face mental trauma subjected by society.

In this video, we interview Alok Dixit, a social worker with Chhanv Foundation who has been helping survivors in India for the past 10 years, helped us understand the severity of the crime, the efforts made to rehabilitate the survivors and deeper problems that prevail in our society.
