This week we invite you to sit back and relax as we share a very special Friday Feature Artist documentary with you.
Textile Artist Julie Ryder has a passion for art, science, research and championing women, so what better time than now to tell her story of 'The Hidden Sex'.
Beginning at an arts residency at The National Museum of Australia in 2016, this is a story of discovery and human connection, sparking, what promises to be Julie's life long love affair with seaweed.
Resulting in a spectacular exhibition of work "The Hidden Sex', a double entendre, celebrates women and their achievements in the 19th century together with the secret reproduction methods of the flowers of the sea.
Fibre Arts Take Two would like to thank Julie Ryder for sharing her story and Dr Joanne Birch, Lecturer, Herbarium Curator at The University of Melbourne for allowing access to their amazing herbarium.
We hope you enjoy this special Friday Feature Artist documentary.
