The launch of Apollo on the Apollo-Soyuz mission - 15th July 1975. Onboard are astronauts Tom Stafford (CDR), Vance Brand (CMP) and Deke Slayton (DMP). This is the BBC coverage of the event. I have had the audio for this mission on tape for 30 odd years. So this is the original audio married to the launch footage. But it is basically what was broadcast on the day. Richard Lindley describes the countdown at the Cape. Commentary after the launch and "tower clear" comes from James Burke. This mission was the last James commentated for the BBC. Enjoy!
