- Matches: 8 minutes, or 4 minutes if weight difference is more than 40 lbs
- Ref may stop clock for groin shots, eye pokes, bleeding, out of bounds, doctor's evaluation
- 5-minute recovery for competitors
- All submissions legal
- No points, no advantages, no judges

Overtime Rules
- Tie at end? EBI Overtime rules: 3 rounds, no time limit
- Competitors choose back or spiderweb position
- Round ends in escape or submission
- Single submission in 1st round wins

- No submissions after 3 rounds? Quickest overall escape time wins
