The upper nanty at +/- 1,300 cfs (gauge was at 1,150 but all the tributaries were flooded out and pouring into the river so 1,300 is an estimate) is basically continuous class 3 boogie water and wave trains with a couple of fun rapids thrown in the mix. With the narrow river bed, converging currents and waves create some very fun hydraulics. This is what I call a super fun and joyous time on the river. With the scheduled releases only at 250-400 cfs, I sure wish they would do some higher water releases like this but until then, it sure is fun grabbing some high water winter laps when the rains allow. I'm posting this mostly so that if others get the chance to hop on the upper natty at higher flow they can see what it is like. Video doesn't quite do justice to how fun it is!
