Luke Rockhold is the former Strikeforce middleweight champion and former UFC middleweight champion who’s career ended rather unfortunately.
Rockhold debuted in Strikeforce in 2008 and went undefeated in 9 fights, along the way capturing the middleweight title over Jacare Souza and twice defending his title before his UFC debut in 2013.
Unfortunately for Rockhold, he was immediately finished by Vitor Belfort in round 1.
But Rockhold bounced back with a phenomenal 5-fight win streak, with 5 finishes over names like Michael Bisping, Lyoto Machida, and finally Chris Weidman to become the UFC middleweight champion in 2015.
However, Rockhold’s next 5 fights weren’t as smooth, as he would get KO’d by Bisping to lose the belt, win a fight over David Branch, get viciously knocked out by Yoel Romero, get viciously knocked out by Jan Blachowicz, and look less than himself against Paulo Costa.
