Dr. Susan Goold of the University of Michigan discusses the results from a survey of 2,104 primary care providers across Michigan who care for 12 or more participants in the state's Medicaid expansion program. The findings, published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine, show the impact of coverage on previously uninsured low-income patients.
A team from the U-M Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation conducted the survey and a range of in-depth interviews as part of the institute's contract with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to evaluate the impact of the Healthy Michigan Plan, the state's Medicaid expansion program.
