1:09 The career path of a doctor | How to become a doctor in the UK. When you complete your medical degree you become a doctor and start working in the NHS as a foundation doctor. You have to undertake two years - foundation year one and foundation year two. After this to become a hospital doctor- a physician or surgeon you undertake additional training in the form of core medical or core surgical training. There is also the ACCS pathway too. After this you then apply to the relevant training pathway which are various lengths. There are also run through training programmes such as GP, radiology and paediatrics.
2:23 In order to show you how much doctors earn I take you to the BMA website where we look at the various doctor earnings. We will look at junior doctors from foundation doctors to more senior registrars.
