Wheat Halwa Recipe:
Whole Wheat Flour - 1 Cup
Ghee - 1 Cup
Sugar - 1 Cup
Cardamom Powder - ¼ tsp
Hot Water - 4 Cups
Cashew Nuts - 15 nos
Cooking Instructions:
1. Add 4 cups of water to a pot and let it come to a boil. At the same time, start roasting the wheat on another stove.
2. In a heavy-bottomed pan, melt the ghee. Roast the cashews until they turn golden brown. Remove the cashews from the ghee and set aside.
3. In the same ghee, add the whole wheat flour. Stir and cook continuously on medium heat for 12-15 minutes. It should reach a deep golden colour similar to caramel.
4. Add the cardamom powder and sugar. Stir and cook for 2 minutes.
5. Add around ½ cup of the boiling water to the wheat mixture and stir well until it is combined. Take care while adding the water as it may bubble and splutter initially.
6. When the water is combined, add another ½ cup of the water.
7. Keep repeating this step until you have eventually added all the water.
8. Cook for another 5 minutes while stirring constantly. Remove from the pan after cooking.
9. You can serve it warm, in a bowl.
10. Or else, you can also cool it in a flat dish. After it has cooled completely, turn it over onto a cutting board and cut it into cubes. Garnish with the fried cashew nuts.
Cooking Tips:
1. Take caution while adding the hot water into the wheat mixture. It tends to bubble violently, and is extremely hot. Maintain a safe distance.
