What if Leeds United won the 1975 European Cup final? #ucl #football #leeds
It’s hard to believe now, but 50 years ago Leeds United were at the forefront of English football and were making waves in Europe.
Don Revie had dredged them from the nobodies of English football to champions of England, winners of the FA Cup and to a competitive level on the continent.
Then he left.
Yet, on the other side of a cursed 44-day reign for Brian Clough at Elland Road, Leeds found themselves in a European Cup final against Bayern Munich. A match so controversial that Leeds fans still declare themselves Champions of Europe on the terrace today.
Today we ask: what if Leeds really were champions of Europe in 1975?
