People fear many things. Crime, illness, loss of employment, environmental problems, natural disasters, political unrest, war, and death are among the things people fear most. Unfortunately, the majority of people do not fear God, nor have they considered what will happen when they stand before Him in judgment. Jesus said, “Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell,” (Mt. 10:28).
In Revelation 15 and 16, seven golden bowls full of the wrath of God are poured upon the earth. Each bowl holds a plague by which the Lord will judge the unrepentant wicked of the world who did not fear Him. They will be struck with loathsome sores. The sea will turn to blood, killing everything in it, and their fresh water sources will also become blood. While this takes place, an angel proclaims the righteousness of the Lord because God’s judgments are just. The bloodthirsty evildoers of the world rejected the living water Christ offered them, and instead, are given blood to drink.
As we continue through our study of Revelation this week, Pastor David will look at the seven last plagues. We will also see those who have been martyred during the Tribulation praising and glorifying God in song for His works, character, holiness, and judgments. So join us this Sunday as we take an in-depth look at this passage and agree with the angel who declared, “Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
