This is a follow-up video to my question about the GM 5.7 TBI stalling out when put into drive or reverse gear as well as stalling at idle and or sever hesitation with RPM's dropping. The problem was a severly corroded distributor cap and rotor. The contact plunger and spring inside the cap were nothing more than metalic dust and all of the other contacts were heavily damaged from poor upkeep. The rotor was equally as bad and it was seized onto the distributor shaft. The rotor broke durring removal, however we cleaned the distributor shaft as well as put a light coat of anti-seize on it to curtail problems in the future.

The next job will be replacing the spark plugs and wires. We have a new set of wires, but currently awaiting the plugs to be delivered.

With these replacement parts, we have solved a great deal of our issues. THere is a slight miss detected at or above 3000 RPM's and I am hoping this self-corrects once the plugs and wires are changed out.
