You may have spent a lot of money on a beauty product, but a tube will normally leave 3-5% of lotion or cream to waste. This video shows a simple way to cut a tube in the middle and use the upper half to cap the lower half of the tube. This way, the product does not dry out, and it does not create a mess. In some cases, I have gotten an extra week of application.
This procedure works on a variety of squeezable plastic tubes. I have not tried this on toothpaste, though.
