Declared open with 22 countries gathered on stage together, the 2020 AmpSurf ISA World Para Surfing Championship began Wednesday, March 11 in La Jolla, California for its fifth iteration.
More than 130 athletes will surf through Sunday across eight classes, but in the end only the best individuals and teams will earn gold, silver, bronze and copper medals.
