Tour de France 1987 -- Stephen Roche wins his 1st Tour, becoming the 1st Irishman to ever win the biggest event in cycling, defeating Spanish climbing sensation Pedro Delgado in a Tour missing its defending champion from 1986, Greg LeMond.
Part 1 of 12 : John Dockery & Phil Liggett cover the Tour live as riders try to survive the Tour's rough and unpredictable first week, starting for the first time ever in Berlin and moving into French wine country. Featuring original Tour music by John Tesh and the complete broadcast of local CBS affilliates in Central Pennsylvania and Philadelphia.
