This presentation aimed to provide the following tips to help maintain your oral health, comfort, and quality of life while experiencing or recovering from an eating disorder:
- Self-care tips and products to use at home to minimize tooth wear and relieve tooth sensitivity
- Caring for a dry mouth
- Choosing a dental office where you feel comfortable
- Communicating with your dental care professional
- Tips for managing dental fear or anxiety
- In-office dental treatments which help to improve oral health, aesthetics and quality of life
While this webinar is geared towards folks living with an eating disorder, anyone (e.g. caregivers, health care providers) are welcome to attend.
Facilitated by Linda Douglas (she/her), BSc, RDH
Linda is from London, England, and has lived in Toronto for 30 years. Linda has enjoyed a 39 year career as a dental hygienist, and is currently an instructor for a Bachelor’s degree program for dental hygienists. She also teaches continuing education courses for dental professionals, and writes articles on oral health topics for several dental publications. Linda has always had a desire to support patients with eating disorders, and those with dental fear: this has instigated ongoing, in-depth study of these topics.
