Women's -57kg: Caprioriu's Brazilian Dream
For the third time of the day, Brazil was represented in the final and for the third time in a women's final. But the public, which of course was supporting SILVA, would have been advised to follow CAPRIORIU's previous fights, because they would have noticed how dynamic, the young Romanian lady was. Leaded by yuko, she was simply waiting for a mistake, a small one, the one that Silva made. Within a second she was in the air, and back on the tatami: ippon for CAPRIORIU.
In the women's -57kg category, the two French fighters did really well all day long and were able to enter their respective semifinals against Rafaela SILVA (BRA) for RIBOUT and Corina CAPRIORIU (ROU) for PAVIA. After her great world title in Rotterdam, back in 2009, RIBOUT is still looking for a new lease in her sports career, but she has simply to take the bronze here in Rio. Automne PAVIA, on her side, wanted to confirm her outstanding win last February in Paris, but before the half of the contest, she was countered by an explosive CAPRIORIU who scored ippon
