New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton addressed the new NFL national anthem policy on Thursday, May 24 at OTAs. The NFL on Wednesday (May 23) issued a new national anthem policy that called for all players and team personnel on the field to "stand and show respect for the flag and the Anthem." Personnel who choose not to stand during the anthem may stay in the locker room until after the anthem has been performed.
