On May 23rd, 2024, the NCAA and all power conferences reached a landmark settlement in the House vs. NCAA lawsuit, set to transform college sports by allowing schools to directly pay athletes via revenue sharing. This monumental change, targeted to begin in fall 2025, will impact power conferences like the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, SEC, and Pac-12. Schools may allocate an estimated $20-22 million annually to athletes, dissolving the NCAA's long-held amateurism facade.
