How do we overcome the fear of death anxiety? A lady asks Rupert what his belief is on what happens after death. Rupert replies that he cannot speculate on what is unknown. However, he feels that her real question is about the fear of death that she first felt as a young girl. That her fear of dying is underneath her question and that she is looking to have this fear assuaged by the idea that something nice might happen after we die.
He explains that seeking for speculative answers on what happens after death is like giving a child a lollypop to suck on to temporarily distract her from her fear. Whereas permanent relief from the fear of death anxiety comes from sinking deeper and deeper into your being.
