Sky News host Peta Credlin has accused Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of “making excuses” for boat arrivals after another made landfall off the coast of Western Australia.
A group of people, reportedly Chinese nationals, were located in remote Western Australia on the weekend.
The group has since been sent to Nauru.
The boat's arrival is understood to be the third illegal maritime landing on Australian soil in under six months.
Ms Credlin urged the Prime Minister to increase surveillance and patrolling so the boats can be intercepted before they make landfall.
“This is why it's essential that the boats must be stopped before they arrive,” Ms Credlin said.
“Three boats in six months is not yet a full-blown resumption of the people smuggling wave that threatened to become a sort of peaceful invasion.
“But it is a test of this government and Prime Minister’s resolve and without much more evidence of strength than we've seen so far, then that's the dire prospect now before us.”
