Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon says the free trade agreement between Australia and the UK is "absolutely good news".
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison have unveiled a free trade agreement between the two countries – marking the UK’s first free-standing free trade deal since Brexit.
"We are a small island trading continent and every free trade agreement, as long as of course it doesn't disadvantage Australian workers and has the relevant protections on things like dumping, is good news for our country," Mr FItzgibbon told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
"And this comes at a time when we have issues with trade in China - so it's timely".
