This physics tutorial takes you through some calculations of wire resistance. The resistance of a wire is proportional to its length. This means if you double the length, then its resistance will also double.
However, the resistance of a wire is INVERSELY proportional to its cross sectional area. This means that if you double the cross sectional area, then resistance will HALVE.
