Graphisoft’s ArchiCAD allows you to display elements realistically, whether on a floor plan, 3D window, 3D documents window, section/elevation/internal elevations or photo renderings, by assigning custom surfaces to those elements. When an element is assigned a building material, it will use the default surface of that building material.
In this video tutorial, we will explore how to change surfaces in ArchiCAD. Using Options / Element Attributes / Surfaces, we will duplicate an existing surface, give it a custom name and apply a custom texture to it. By the end of the video, you will be conversant with ArchiCAD textures, surfaces and building materials.
